The typical structure of graphs with no large cliques

چکیده
In 1987, Kolaitis, Prömel and Rothschild proved that, for every fixed r ∈ N, almost every n-vertex Kr+1-free graph is r-partite. In this paper we extend this result to all functions r = r(n) with r 6 (log n). The proof combines a new (close to sharp) supersaturation version of the Erdős–Simonovits stability theorem, the hypergraph container method, and a counting technique developed by Balogh, Bollobás and Simonovits.

Cohen-Macaulay $r$-partite graphs with minimal clique cover
In this paper, we give some necessary conditions for an $r$-partite graph such that the edge ring of the graph is Cohen-Macaulay. It is proved that if there exists a cover of an $r$-partite Cohen-Macaulay graph by disjoint cliques of size $r$, then such a cover is unique.
متن کاملCliques Role in Organizational Reputational Influence: A Social Network Analysis
Empirical support for the assumption that cliques are major determinants of reputational influence derives largely from the frequent finding that organizations which claimed that their cliques’ connections are influential had an increased likelihood of becoming influential themselves. It is suggested that the strong and consistent connection in cliques is at least partially responsible for the ...
متن کاملParameterized clique on inhomogeneous random graphs
Finding cliques in graphs is a classical problem which is in general NP-hard and parameterized intractable. In typical applications like social networks or biological networks, however, the considered graphs are scale-free, i.e., their degree sequence follows a power law. Their specific structure can be algorithmically exploited and makes it possible to solve clique much more efficiently. We pr...

متن کاملConstraint-Based Mining of Sets of Cliques Sharing Vertex Properties
We consider data mining methods on large graphs where a set of labels is associated to each vertex. A typical example of such graphs is a social network of collaborating researchers where additional information represent the main publication targets (preferred conferences or journals) for each author. We investigate the extraction of sets of dense subgraphs such that the vertices in all subgrap...
